About

My sister wrote this.

Allison is an incredible force for education, a mom of four awesome kids (twin preschoolers, a 1st grader, and a 3rd grader, all in CHCCS), aunt of three additional kiddos (1st, 5th, and 9th graders in CHCCS), and an amazingly kind, thoughtful person. She has Masters degrees in Teaching and Educational Leadership and over the past two decades has worked in the classroom as a teacher, served as a principal, and most recently had a senior educational leadership role in a school system in NYC. Equity in education has been integral to her career from the get-go. I’ll never forget the chance I had to sit in her middle school classroom when she was a Teach for America corps member and experience her classroom community that sparked learning and achieving big dreams. In 2020, Allison’s family moved to Chapel Hill to be closer to extended family. Like so many parents, she juggled working full-time, having young children at home, and her oldest attending kindergarten remotely. Allison knows what it is like to work in public schools and to be a parent of kids in public schools. She’s been part of her sister’s (that’s me, the writer) family journey to navigate the CHCCS system with a twice-exceptional student. Allison is running for the school board to share her knowledge and many years of experience in education with the CHCCS community. She’s a caring and steady leader, and has a deep passion for education. Vote for Allison!
